Responsive production optimises capabilities

To further enhance our commitment to our core business model of cut and screw 8.8, 10.9, and 12.9 blanks, we are delighted to announce the commencement of an additional shift to provide quality products on a 24/48 hour turnaround.

The new shift will run from 2pm – 10:30pm, Sunday to Wednesday, and 2pm – 9.30pm on Thursdays. This work pattern will overlap with the current first shift to enable us to share learning cultures and create a cohesive production environment.

Aligned with our core business value of responsiveness, the implementation of this second shift will allow us to immediately react to customer needs, establishing a more efficient and effective production process.

To support the newly launched second shift, two new employees had been brought on board. We are pleased to welcome machine operators Jacek Nawrocki and Rajnikant Sanchania to the Union Fasteners family. Their roles will be crucial in ensuring the successful transition to a multiple shift production process.

Andrew McWaters, operations director, said: ‘The addition of the second shift will allow us to improve our productive efficiency. For our customers, this means that we can deliver jobs quicker and react immediately to emergency requests.

‘It is the perfect time to introduce the second shift, as we implement our strategy and aim to have the best turnaround from order intake to delivery in the industry.’

The new shift will continue the programme of planned work, and allows for a seamless handover of the work in progress.
